A/N: I did say that this update would be long in coming… I just didn’t think it would be this late. Since the last update, my finals have come and gone, I passed, went abroad on holiday, come back and started working. That basically summarizes my life thus far…. Now on to the extremely late update! Apologies to everyone, and thank you to those who kept encouraging me to write!

The other fact is also that although I promised to finish all my fics as soon as I'd finished exams I have not done so yet.
*gasp*
Unfortunately, the way things are set out here, I had to start working about two weeks after I finished exams, which has left me without any time to write... I'm still getting used to the way things are, and although very gradually, I am managing to finish work by decent hours, so the future looks brighter with regards to continuing my fics :)
And now, I will continue ploughing my way through filling forms and self evaluation questionnaires and personal development plans which are an absolute waste of time and my answers to which are even more absolute balderdash... and which my educational supervisor is conveniently ignoring.
Trust my luck to get the only technology illiterate for an educational supervisor.

So... as some of you may have noticed
Life this month has been pretty hectic (with exams and so many glorious problems which nearly made me tear my hair out), and in this past week more so. I've started my semester-before-last at university and have to cover a vast amount of topics for my finals (cause, you know, the human brain is expandable, we're young and we can take it) and so the little time I spend at home must be spent studying. *sighs*
I'll do my best to write up the next chapter asap... technically, the framework is there, and has been there a long time, but Mr I-know-it-all Uchiha refuses to behave as he should, and Hinata is not helping out. Not to mention the fact that I keep changing my mind every couple of sentences or scrapping the stuff I've done and changing the rest of the chapter.
*whimpers*

A/N: I won't lie to you. This actually started as, and in its entirety is a one-shot. Yes, that's right a one shot. Single chapter and all that. But notorious as I am for coming up with obscenely long fics, I figured that having plonking a good 10,000 words into a single file and uploading it would be too much for both this site and my patient readers to ingest. :) Hence, I've chopped it up into not-so-little pieces and will upload one part at a time. Don't be fooled by the length of this chapter - it's just a little teaser to whet the appetite.
And by the by, I know I promised the prequel to Strange Meeting (henceforth to be known as Fallen Leaves), but I decided to start with this instead as it will become totally unfeasible the way the manga's going. Fallen Leaves won't be up for a while yet, until I manage to iron out some kinks in the original story in order to make it compliant with the manga.
So... on with the story!
